Mike & Joan August 2020 Update

Dear Friends,

 Another month has passed in the world of COVID-19. We hope all of you are well.

COVID has been quite bad in Oaxaca and we would appreciate prayers for the Alas staff and the members of our church family there.

Mike is hoping to travel to Mexico near the end of August to help Amos with the flying. Alas continues to do flights that help the government attempt to deal with outbreaks. Mostly this consists of moving personnel and supplies for the Oaxaca Secretary of Health. Please pray that the current shortage of gasoline for our airplanes would be resolved soon.

After Mike returns from Oaxaca he will probably be making a trip to Haiti to do some maintenance training. Please pray for these scheduled trips, Mike’s safety and the continued health of all our programs in Latin America.

*Pray for continued opportunity for Juan Carlos to get the critical hours of flight experience he needs to become an MAF pilot.

*Praise that critical medical flights are still happening in Mexico. Pray that God will provide for many in Oaxaca with limited access to medical care.

*Pray for patience, discernment, and wisdom as travel plans are made for the Fall.

Ross Family February 2020 Prayer Requests

*Praise God that both Juan and Juan continue to take small steps forward in their goals to become missionary pilots. Pray for pilots to be called to serve on the mission fields around the world.

*Praise for the Parkside Dental Team that ministered in the town of San Jose de Las Flores. The team faced many obstacles this time but we saw God provide solutions to each one. Praise that several people indicated openness to the Gospel. Thank you for your prayers! Pray that many lives would be impacted for the Kingdom.

*Pray for Mike as he spends time in Idaho this month learning how to train MAF pilots and mechanics.

*Pray that the Ross’s three sons along with their families will serve God with their whole hearts.

Ross Family May Tidings

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your faithful prayers in support of our ministry in Mexico. We are encouraged to see what God is doing to build His church in indigenous communities. We are currently in Ohio starting a furlough through August.

Please continue to pray for the ongoing work in Oaxaca in our absence. Pray for our whole team as they continue the work and especially for Amos who is the only pilot and mechanic. Pray for safety in the flying and for wisdom as he will not be able to meet all the flight requests alone. He will need to prioritize the requests and say “no” to some.

Ross Family May 2019 Prayer Requests

* Pray that the Lord will continue to provide safety for the pilots dealing with clouds and rain during May as they bringing the Gospel to Oaxaca.

* Pray fervently for the ongoing need for a hangar.

* Pray that doors will open for the Gospel resulting in Kingdom fruit as the local pastors follow up new relationships resulting from the dental team visits.

* Remember Mike and Joan in prayer as they spend time in Ohio. Pray that they would be an encouragement as they share the work of MAF around the world.

* Please lift to the Lord their concern for their three sons and their families to seek the Kingdom first.
