College Age Group to Merge with Transit

Starting March 31st, 2021, the College-Age Group will permanently merge with Transit as the sole young adult ministry at Parkside Church. Transit will move from a ministry for 22-35 year olds to a ministry for 18-35 year olds. All people ages 18-35 are welcome to join in at Transit every Wednesday night at the Loft starting at 7:30pm.  For questions or futher follow-up, please e-mail Pastor Matt Ross at mross@parksidechurch.com. 

College Age Group Winter Schedule

The College-Age Group will be meeting throughout the Winter of 2021 from 7-9pm every other Thursday evening. Group meetings occur in the Parkside Warehouse (31200 Solon Rd., Solon, OH 44139). Participants are asked to socially distance and to wear masks when necessary. Click here for more details.

The College-Age Group will continue to meet throughout the summer 2020.  With so much being uncertain pertaining to covid-19 restrictions and making planning difficult, we will go ahead and plan for these meetings to take place over Zoom at our regular time beginning at 7pm.  If restrictions are lifted for in person meetings, we will look to gather in person for Bible studies or group activities during these times.

Considering the COVID-19 restrictions, the college-age community group will continue to meet at regular times moving forward just no longer in person.  Meetings will take place every 2 weeks per usual on Thursday nights at 7pm through Zoom.

COLLEGE-AGE COMMUNITY GROUP

Join in for the spring 2020 College-Age Community Group! If you are someone between the ages of 18-23 years old and would like to connect with others in a community centered upon God’s Word, you are invited to participate. Starting January 9^th meeting in a local home near the church building in Chagrin Falls, the group will meet every other Thursday night from 7-9pm. The spring semester meeting dates are located below!

Standpoint Ministry Update

Hi Standpoint Participants,

Hope you are well and that you had a great summer!  My name is Jeff Mills and I am the Director of Ministries on the pastoral team.  I wanted to let you know about some news regarding Standpoint.  For those of you who weren’t at the last Standpoint meeting in June, Eric Pollitz announced that he would be leaving the staff of Parkside Church to pursue some other vocational opportunities.  This was a difficult decision for Eric to make, but one that he feels was right for him, so we’d ask that you pray for Eric and his wife Emily as they transition on to new things.

To take Eric’s place on staff, we have recently hired Matt Ross, a former Parkside Intern.  After Matt’s internship, he served at Buck Run Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky and will be moving back to the area along with his wife Katherine. One of Matt’s areas of responsibility will be to lead Standpoint.  Some of you may know Matt from his time here as an intern, and others will have a chance to meet him this Sunday. 

In anticipation of Matt’s arrival, I also wanted to let you know about one other change to the ministry.  Historically, the group has met on Sunday mornings and also during the week.  While this model had some advantages, we thought it was best to try something different for the upcoming ministry season.  For the Fall of 2019 Standpoint will continue to have some form of a mid-week gathering to be determined by Matt and others.  But, on Sundays, rather than having a separate Standpoint group, we are going to invite and encourage college-age students to attend one of our multi-generational Sunday morning groups.  This way, you will have an opportunity to both hang out with one another during the week, but also have the chance to get to know people from other generations in the church on Sunday mornings.  Our desire is that the Sunday morning groups might be a place where older and young can experience community together. 

Our Sunday morning groups begin this Sunday, September 8^th, so this would be a great week to try one.  Here is a list of what is being taught, along with a link to register for a group if you would like to:

Standpoint Whitewater and Camping Trip 2019

Location: Ohiopyle in Pennsylvania
Start Time: Sat 20, July 2019, noon
