Hi Standpoint Participants,

Hope you are well and that you had a great summer!  My name is Jeff Mills and I am the Director of Ministries on the pastoral team.  I wanted to let you know about some news regarding Standpoint.  For those of you who weren’t at the last Standpoint meeting in June, Eric Pollitz announced that he would be leaving the staff of Parkside Church to pursue some other vocational opportunities.  This was a difficult decision for Eric to make, but one that he feels was right for him, so we’d ask that you pray for Eric and his wife Emily as they transition on to new things.

To take Eric’s place on staff, we have recently hired Matt Ross, a former Parkside Intern.  After Matt’s internship, he served at Buck Run Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky and will be moving back to the area along with his wife Katherine. One of Matt’s areas of responsibility will be to lead Standpoint.  Some of you may know Matt from his time here as an intern, and others will have a chance to meet him this Sunday.  

In anticipation of Matt’s arrival, I also wanted to let you know about one other change to the ministry.  Historically, the group has met on Sunday mornings and also during the week.  While this model had some advantages, we thought it was best to try something different for the upcoming ministry season.  For the Fall of 2019 Standpoint will continue to have some form of a mid-week gathering to be determined by Matt and others.  But, on Sundays, rather than having a separate Standpoint group, we are going to invite and encourage college-age students to attend one of our multi-generational Sunday morning groups.  This way, you will have an opportunity to both hang out with one another during the week, but also have the chance to get to know people from other generations in the church on Sunday mornings.  Our desire is that the Sunday morning groups might be a place where older and young can experience community together.  

Our Sunday morning groups begin this Sunday, September 8th, so this would be a great week to try one.  Here is a list of what is being taught, along with a link to register for a group if you would like to:
