Listen to the only Son of God, Jesus

Separated from its context, the Transfiguration can be a strange and uncomfortable passage to read, but a study of Matthew’s account of this phenomenon helps readers understand its significance. Through this miraculous event, God demonstrated Christ’s deity, declared His authority, and displayed His fulfillment of the law and prophets. As Peter, James, and John witnessed this foretaste of Christ’s Kingdom, God commanded them, just as His Word commands each of us, to look only to Christ and listen to Him.

Matthew 17:1-8
