Basics Conference 

What began over 20 years ago with a few hundred pastors is now a conference that brings over 1,500 men from all over the world to Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Parkside Church. Basics is a three-day conference for pastors and Christian workers with the goal to refresh and encourage men amid the challenges of full-time ministry and equip them to do the basics of Christian ministry well. After a two-year hiatus, Basics is back this year, May 2-4.

Parkside Hospitality

When asked what draws the men to this specific conference, they list three things: 1. the solid biblical preaching; 2. the camaraderie of other men in ministry; and 3. the hospitality they receive from the Parkside Church family. Whether you’ve prayed, served food, set up rooms, or hosted attendees, your help in years past has made our church a welcoming place to those who have attended Basics. 

4 Ways to Serve

If you'd like to be involved with Basics 2022, we have a number of options:
  1. Host Pastors in Your Home: If you live near Parkside, open your home to one or more pastors and provide overnight lodging during the conference.
  2. Serve Meal(s): Set and clear tables, serve food at the buffet stations, and fill drinks. Choose one or more meal shifts.
  3. Commit to Praying: Receive a weekly email prayer guide with specific prayer requests leading up to and throughout the conference.
  4. Assist with Setup: Help move tables, chairs, and more on Sunday, May 1, after the 10:30am service. Lunch will be provided.

Who is Melchizedek and what is his significance? The writer to the Hebrews describes Melchizedek as a righteous ruler, a king of peace, and a high priest. This Old Testament figure pointed forward to the one in whom these offices would find their perfect fulfilment—namely, Jesus. As King and Priest forever, Jesus subdues our rebellious hearts and guards us for all eternity. We can have full confidence that Jesus rules sovereignly over every situation in our lives and that He will sustain us through all circumstances.
