The Surprise of Grace

Morning Service
Jun 3, 2018

When Peter asks Jesus what the disciples will receive for following Him, Jesus responds with a parable about laborers in a vineyard. When the laborers begin to grumble about their wages, the master kindly rebukes them demonstrating his authority and addressing their entitled posture that focuses on fairness rather than his benevolence. In this parable, Jesus provides a lesson in humility by pointing out the shocking nature of the God’s grace. When we recognize that we have contributed nothing to our salvation, then we will stand amazed at God’s kindness to bring us into His Kingdom.

Matthew 20:1-16
