Mike & Cindy August 2020 Prayer Requests

*Praise God that one of the students that attended English classes offered by the Parkside team last summer in Macedonia has attended a Bible study virtually with a Parkside member. Pray that God would guide her to the truth and to a relationship with Himself.

*Thank God with them for their daughter, Rachel’s wedding to Austin on July 11. Pray God would bless the beginning of their life together.

*Thank God that Mike & Cindy were able to purchase a home on the west side of Cleveland. Pray for both as they begin the new experience of teaching in America, that they would be equipped as teachers and their lives would be used to impact students academically and spiritually. Pray for Mike as he begins teaching math and Bible in a high school and for Cindy as she seeks to establish a studio in which to teach piano.

*Pray for their daughter Rachel’s wedding to Austin on July 11, that the joyful event would bring glory to God and that He would bless this beginning of their life together as the center of their relationship.

*Pray for Mike and Cindy’s transition to life and ministry in America as he begins teaching Math and Bible in a high school and she seeks to establish a studio in which to teach piano.

Pray for Cindy’s mom who is recovering after seizures and a fall. Pray for God’s Spirit to visit her and give peace, as visiting restrictions in the hospital make this a very difficult time right now.

Dear friends,

In these days when we all are sailing through unchartered waters, we want to update you on the journey we are taking. After much prayer and reflection, Cindy and I have decided to wrap up our time of ministry in Macedonia and permanently relocate to the US.

We are deeply grateful to Parkside church for their many years of faithful provision for our spiritual and physical needs while serving in Skopje and Prague. Looking back, it was actually on today’s exact date 25 years ago on April 17, 1995, that we first departed for Macedonia with our 3.5 children.

Mike & Cindy April 2020 Prayer Requests

*Cindy left Macedonia in order to be with their daughter Hannah as she delivers her twin girls. Now the Skopje airport is closed due to the coronavirus. Pray for an option to open for Mike to be able to get back to the U.S. to begin their scheduled home service.

*Pray for the team to have open doors of ministry despite the closing of the language center and canceling of the planned Love Languages event. 

Mike & Cindy March 2020 Prayer Requests

*Pray for daughter Hannah’s safe delivery of healthy twins which are due in early April but likely to be born in March!

*An outreach event based on the 5 Love Languages will be held at a local café March 13. Pray for the venue to be filled with Macedonians in whose hearts God is working, and for good follow-up.

Mike & Cindy February 2020 Prayer Requests

*Pray for wisdom as their family seeks to provide for the most fitting conditions for the ongoing needs of Cindy’s mom.

*Pray also for the recruitment of two 10-month interns to teach English in our team’s language centers along-side our team for the 2020-2021 academic year. The goal is to give a valuable taste of ministry to individuals who are properly trained and have a godly character, as well as to make new contacts for the church plants.

* Praise the Lord for a good turnout at the evangelistic talk by Kosta a few weeks ago. Pray that God would continue to work in the hearts of those who heard a quality presentation of the gospel, especially for our team’s follow-up with the five who indicated an interest in hearing more about the Christian faith.

* Pray also for good closure to the academic year with students at the language center May 14.

Pray for an evangelistic talk that Mike is organizing in their community for April 11. Kosta, who has a doctorate in philosophy, will be speaking on Faith and Reason. Pray for final preparations, for God to move in the hearts of many who come, and for wise follow-up with seekers.

*Praise for good resolution in their Macedonian teammate’s work situation and good progress his German wife’s health and teaching issues.

*Please pray for a the craft night for the ladies in the language center March 7 to deepen relationships.

*Pray also for preparations on both sides of the ocean for the team from Parkside planning to serve in Macedonia in June, making contacts through teaching English.
